Bassingbourn cum Kneesworth parish council voted to use a green energy provider when considering their street lighting and the Pavilion. In their recent letter to the council Opus Energy tells us that they sourced 100% renewable energy for April 2019 – March 2020. All their customers together have helped prevent 1,022,815 tonnes of CO2 from going into the atmosphere. That’s the same as the volume of carbon it would take to fill 3,742 St Paul’s Cathedral’s (squared) or the same emissions as driving around the Equator 205 times.
